Mrs. Peeples’ practice is limited exclusively to the area of Matrimonial & Family Law. With a focused and boutique style of practice in only this area, Candi was honored to be selected by local attorneys in 2009 by the Birmingham Magazine as one of the city’s “Top Attorneys” in Family Law. Candi’s philosophy has always been to focus on each individual family which she represents by attempting to enable each of them to transition into the next phase of their lives. This focus remains on the whole family unit from start to finish. Prior to joining Shaw-Anderson, LLC in June, 2007, she worked exclusively with Judith S. Crittenden in the Birmingham, Alabama office of The Crittenden Firm, P.C.
Candi also devotes a considerable amount of her practice to advising clients and helping them resolve their dispute without the necessity of lengthy litigation. Candi believes that every case has the potential to settle out of court and strives to exhaust all possible avenues of settlement while fully understanding that a trial on the merits of the case may be the only option in some matters as well. She is a certified domestic and appellate mediator who facilitates private party mediations as well as attorneys lead sessions as well.
As one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40”, Candi is an active member of the Birmingham Community. After graduating from the University of Georgia in 1997, she earned her law degree cum laude from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 2000. She was selected to be a member of the lawschool’s nationally recognized competitive trial teams for two years.
